Swedish wedding cakes

Have you ever made believe that you were a princess..that maybe someday you'd marry a prince?? Well, one lovely lady found her Swedish prince and, like the story goes, they fell in love and are currently living happily ever after. But wait..let's back up a little...honestly, who can really even think of living happily ever after without having some cake first??? This bride honored her new husband's heritage by incorporating some Swedish traditions, such as bypassing the typical round table setup for the more traditional horseshoe table setup. Many speeches and toasts were made! For dessert, a uniquely, delectable Swedish confection was served...the Swedish Princess cake... a little dome shaped sponge cake, layered with raspberry jam, custard and whipped cream which is then covered with marzipan (teal was chosen to coordinate with the bridesmaids dresses). A charming cake for a charming couple. Skål!

Birthday cake of the century!

Down by the lake -
Sometimes the best way to wish someone a Happy Birthday is to remind them of the happiness they have brought to so many people....this family celebrated a 90th birthday by using this cake to depict one of the happiest places the family has shared time together...the dock down by the lake...we tried to represent about 30 'direct descendants' and then started having some fun with the 'puffy' people...even the red rooster on the dock was special..reminiscent of a wind sock on the actual dock...

In memory of JK...

A friend asked me to make a cake for the Kelly family, who had lost their son tragically last year.

Right after the accident, a very beautiful rainbow in the sky came across Skaneateles lake, with the initials JK in the sky above it. I believe he knew his dear Mom needed this sign from him!

She wanted the cake made with a heart and a rainbow...this is what I came up with. I think this is my most special cake ever!

a very different idea for a wedding cake!

Not everyone has to have a traditional wedding cake...you can do little cakes, or rather cupcakes...be creative, each one can be different...change the colors, different flowers...

The purses...that go with the dress:)

Remember the dress....I promised you the purses...here they are!
For a graduation, a very special young lady, with an affinity for purses...

More of a traditional wedding cake

A fondant wedding cake, with just a touch of color and beautiful flowers...simple, yet elegant!

Flowers gone wild...

This particular cake was accompanied with the fish groom cake....I love how the flowers just seem to be trying to climb to the top!

It's a jungle in there...

The monkeys are busy right now, eating their bananas...what flavor is this cake? Banana and chocolate??? Perfect for a childs party or any other favorite little monkey!

The dress cake...

The cake is ready to attend the party, but where are her shoes...and what about her purse...oh I do believe they are already attending another party without her! (Wait for those photos later:)

Sweet 16!

A unique cake, nothing formal, just perfect for a young girl...whimsical and yet just a bit sophisticated, perfect for a girl turning 16!

Grooms cake!

They wanted the fish to be realistic...jumping or rather leaping from the cake...what do you think?? Can't you see the scales???

Chocolate covered strawberries anyone???

Who says you have to have a traditional wedding cake?? It's your day...you do what YOU want!

Dragees cake

Celebrations or Grand openings

This cake and dessert ensemble was done for Bijou's grand opening. (On a moments notice, as Kim from Bijou gave me a couple days notice, so if you think it's last notice, just ask, I will be honest and tell you if I can do it or not...sometimes I work well under pressure:)
A scrumptious Chocoholic cake, with delectable dark chocolate ganache on the inside...and festive fondant on the outside! Displayed with chocoholic petit fours!
